BCBS MAPD AZ Certification

Before You Certify

You cannot contract and certify with BCBSAZ unless you have an AZ Resident License.  Please click here to start contracting and certifying with BCBSAZ MAPD.

Prior to certification, all agents, agencies and agency principals will need to have the following:

  • Arizona Resident Accident/Health Insurance License (Life insurance is not required)
  • Current AHIP
  • Proof of Errors and Omissions/Professional Liability Insurance

Initial Certification

Once you complete the mandatory in-person rollout (for which you will receive credit for the Product Module), the rest of the certification process is done online.

Note: We cannot submit your contract to the carrier until you complete Step 6 below.

Please follow these steps to certify:

Step 1: Fill out this brief form to notify us that you would like to contract and certify with BCBSAZ MAPD.  We will confirm receipt of your information. If you have already notified us that you would like to contract and certify, please skip to Step 3.

Step 2: We will forward your information to BCBSAZ to set you up in their certification portal and they will email you directly with online registration and certification instructions 48 hours after receiving the information from us.

Step 3: Click on the link BCBSAZ  sends you to begin the certification process.  Your first time login information is as follows:

Step 4: Begin registration as a “New User”.

Step 5: Build your profile and upload a copy of your AHIP, if applicable.

Step 6: Email a copy of your BCBSAZ MAPD Training Certificate along with your contract to our Contracting Department at support@protectionbenefitsolutions.com.

Step 7: You will receive a writing number approximately 2-3 weeks after the carrier receives your contracting and certification certificate.  *See important writing number information below.*

*Important Writing Number Information*

  • New to BCBSAZ MAPD: This writing number will be in addition to any other writing numbers you currently have with BCBSAZ for other lines of business.
  • Moving MAPD Contract Under PBS: This will be your NEW MAPD writing number.

Recertification

Once you complete the mandatory in-person rollout (for which you will receive credit for the Product Module), the rest of the certification process is done online.

Step 1: Click here to get started. The preferred browser to access the certification website and complete the online training is Internet Explorer versions 7-11 .

Step 2: Sign in with your EXISTING username and password.

Step 3: Review your profile and upload a copy of your AHIP, if applicable.

Step 4: Email a copy of your BCBSAZ MAPD Training Certificate to our Contracting Department at support@protectionbenefitsolutions.com.
